Fireworks Galaxy

Sep 17, 2024

The fireworks galaxy is a spiral galaxy located in the boundary between Cepheus and Cygnus. So it's along the milky way and it has much more stars on the background than other galaxies. It is one of the members of the Virgo Supercluster.

Ten supernovae have been observed in the galaxy in the 20th to the early 21th century. Hence it's got its name of Fireworks Galaxy. The latest one was in 2017.
